Chris Webb's 105e Anglia

In the first of, hopefully, a regular thing, we're going to take a look back at feature cars from Retro Ford Mag's past.
Our first installment is Chris Webb's stunning 105e Anglia.
It was one of those cars that was just simple in every way, and because of that, it made it one of those cars that we will always remember. Built by Chris and his dad to the highest of high standards.

It's not fussy, it's not complicated. The black details against the straight, Pompadour blue, paintwork keeps it simple and spot-on.

Under the bonnet it's strictly "Old School" with a Vulcan built 1700 Crossflow, good for 145bhp.

As bunches of bananas go... That's epic. A 105Speed mild steel, MASS style exhaust manifold both looks pretty and gets rid of those gasses very efficiently.

No naughty Crossflow would be complete without a pair of Weber snorters on the side.

There are obviously plenty of "Harry Potter" references available, but we think this car speaks for itself.

As with the outside, the interior of this Anglia is very much "strictly business". If it doesn't need to be there, it aint!

It is almost literally a pair of seats and a steering wheel - the essentials for driving a car and nothing more.

Just like the outside, it's pretty much just blue and black... And why not, it works.

As you might expect, the immaculately presented boot hides little more than a battery and a fuel pump.

Obviously no Anglia would be complete without some Milton goodies, and this car is no exception, with a rack and pinion steering conversion, coilover front struts, adjustable TCA's, adjustable top-mounts, double anti-roll bar, an A-frame axle location kit, telescopic rear damper conversion and much more.

The net result is what could be called a perfect Anglia.
